Contact: Mikki Grebetz Communications Director mikki.grebetz@summitk12.org FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Summit School District Recognizes ‘Employees of the Year’ (FRISCO, CO – MARCH 11, 2021) - Summit School District (SSD) dedicates the 2020-2021 Employee of the Year recognition to all Summit School District Staff, as each and every staff member has continued to relentlessly educate, advocate, serve and persist during this most unprecedented school year in recent national history. “During this school year, as we continue to navigate the realities and continued uncertainties of COVID-19, SSD staff have met this moment and its challenges with grace, persistence, flexible problem solving, imaginative creativity, deepening cultural responsiveness and a focus on the well-being of Summit scholars as their priority,” stated Dr. Marion Smith, Jr., Superintendent of Schools. “Employee of the Year is a small token of recognition and appreciation for all SSD staff for their sacrifice and triumphs to creatively engage in the work to transform education and to adapt support services during a pandemic while giving the best of themselves to our Summit scholars.” The Employee of the Year distinction promotes education by recognizing staff who are modeling exemplary learning, teaching, and support services in Summit schools and who serve scholars both academically and social-emotionally. SSD staff members support the efficient and effective operations of offices, the safety and maintenance of buildings and properties, and the safe transportation, healthy nutrition, and direct instruction and learning of scholars. “This school year has challenged us individually and collectively. At the same time, SSD staff remain inspiring with the many ways that they have adapted to ensure that all scholars continue to receive a high-quality education whether in full remote learning or in our in-person/online blended learning models. I’m proud to work alongside some of the most dynamic, creative, and adaptive educators and staff members in our District, and I’m deeply honored to recognize staff in this capacity,” said Smith.  SSD is fortunate to have inspiring and outstanding staff members in classrooms, on buses, in kitchens, in schools, and in offices throughout the district. We are proud to have all SSD staff representing Summit schools. "Durante este año escolar, a medida que continuamos navegando por las realidades y las continuas incertidumbres del COVID-19, el personal del Distrito Escolar, SSD, ha cumplido sus desafíos con gracia, persistencia, flexibilidad en la resolución de problemas, creatividad imaginativa, con mayor capacidad de respuesta cultural y con un enfoque en el bienestar de los estudiantes del Distrito como su prioridad", declaró el Dr. Marion Smith, Jr., Superintendente de Escuelas. "Empleado del Año es una pequeña muestra de reconocimiento y aprecio por todo el personal del Distrito, (SSD), por sus sacrificios y triunfos de participar creativamente para transformar la educación y adaptar los servicios de apoyo durante una pandemia mientras entregan lo mejor de sí mismos a nuestros estudiantes en el Distrito." La distinción de Empleado del Año promueve la educación reconociendo al personal que ha estado modelando servicios ejemplares de aprendizaje, enseñanza y apoyo en las escuelas de Summit y que apoyan a los estudiantes en niveles tanto académicos como niveles sociales-emocionales. Los miembros del personal del Distrito, (SSD), apoyan las operaciones de forma eficiente y efectiva en las oficinas, la seguridad general, mantenimiento de edificios y propiedades, el transporte seguro, la nutrición saludable, la instrucción y aprendizaje directos de los alumnos. "Este año escolar nos ha desafiado individual y colectivamente. Al mismo tiempo, el personal del Distrito, (SSD), seguirá con la inspiración en las muchas maneras que se han adaptado ya, para asegurar que todos los estudiantes continúen recibiendo una educación de alta calidad, ya sea en el aprendizaje remoto completo o en nuestros modelos de aprendizaje combinado en persona /ó en línea. Estoy orgulloso de trabajar junto a educadores y miembros del personal, que son dinámicos, creativos y adaptables y me siento profundamente honrado de reconocer al personal en esta capacidad", dijo Smith. El Distrito Escolar de Summit, SSD, tiene la suerte de tener miembros inspiradores y sobresalientes en las aulas, en los autobuses, en las cocinas, en las escuelas y en las oficinas de todo el Distrito.
